What's Raita?

Raita is a yogurt sauce that is traditionally used as a cooling side all over South Asia (India, Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh). Yogurt sauces are also widely used in Greece, Turkey, and many middle eastern countries. Our Cucumber with Mint and Cilantro raita is the Indian cousin of the Tzatsiki, Jajeek and Cacik. However, in South Asia, and particularly in India, raita is made with many different vegetables and sometimes even fruits, adding fun and flavor to already flavorful meals.

Prayani Raita = Freedom from Sour Cream Boredom

See our recipes. These recipes have been developed from feedback from our first customers in Michigan. Prayani yogurt sauces have been used as a flavorful alternative to sour cream, and used anywhere from a dip, to put on baked potatoes, tacos, kebabs and salmon. We love how raita has such universal appeal!
